under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973
TAMILNADU WATER SUPPLY AND DRAINAGE BOARD (TWAD) [USER ID: STNCHS000033] [Govt. of Tamil Nadu] invites Online application from eligible Graduate/Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during September ‘2019, 2020 & 2021), hailing from Tamilnadu, for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

II. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: TWAD Apprenticeship

A. Category – I Graduate Apprentices:-
1.A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a Statutory University in
relevant discipline.
2. A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by an Institution
empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
3. Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State Government or
Central Government as equivalent to above.

B. Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:-
1. A Diploma in Engineering or technology (Full time) granted by a State Council or Board
of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
2. A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a University in relevant
discipline.
3. A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the
State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Age Limit: TWAD Apprenticeship

Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES: TWAD Apprenticeship

Guidelines under Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD will be followed. Those who are claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PwD shall provide certificate as per Government standard format, failed which their claim for reservation will be considered as ‘General’ category only. If BC/MBC candidates claiming OBC (Non-creamy layer) category, they should bring OBC(NCL) certificate as per the approved (OBC (NCL)) format from the certificate issuing authority.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL STANDARDS: TWAD Apprenticeship

As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992, and amendments thereof if
any.

DURATION OF TRAINING :TWAD Apprenticeship

The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

PREVIOUS TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: TWAD Apprenticeship

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: TWAD Apprenticeship

Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is entrusted to the task of preparing shortlisted candidates list from online application data. Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the CGPA / Percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines. Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id to appear for Certificate Verification at TWAD Board, Chennai

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION IN : TWAD Apprenticeship

For students who have already enrolled in the National Web Portal and having login details
Please note : After verification of student enrolment by BOAT (SR), a student can able to login and apply
Step 1:
a. Login
b. Click Establishment Request Menu
c. Click Find Establishment
d. Upload Resume
e. Choose Establishment name
f. Type “TamilNadu Water Supply and Drainage Board” and search
g. Click apply
h. Click apply again.
For students who have not so far enrolled in the National Web Portal
Step 1:
a. Go to www.mhrdnats.gov.in
b. Click Enroll
c. Complete the application form
d. A unique Enrolment Number for each student will be generated


Please note: Please wait for atleast one day for enrollment verification and approval. After this student can proceed to Step 2.


Step 2 :
a. Login
b. Click Establishment Request Menu
c. Click Find Establishment
d. Upload Resume
e. Choose Establishment name
f. Type “TamilNadu Water Supply and Drainage Board” and search
g. Click apply
h. Click apply again

TRAVEL EXPENSES:

No TA / DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.

BOARDING/LODGING:

No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, TAMILNADU WATER SUPPLY AND DRAINAGE BOARD (TWAD) have no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.

organization to coordinate (or) liaison our work. Candidates beware of touts and our office is
not responsible for such unwanted incident


Canvassing / Pressuring through any source will disqualify the candidature and their name will
be removed from our official records without prior intimation and this Board will not
responsible for such cases
